About the challenge
What is Challenge Yourself 2026?
Challenge Yourself 2026 is our community fundraising campaign. No matter how you choose to fundraise (or who you choose to fundraise with) it’s all about choosing to Challenge Yourself to raise money for BBC Children in Need to support children across the UK. If you want to take part in Run with Pudsey and Joe Wicks, this uses a different sign-up form, which you can find here.
Do schools fundraise under Challenge Yourself 2026?
Yes! Remember, when you complete the sign-up form, you’ll need to select whether you’ll be joining in with our Early Years, Primary School or Secondary School campaigns.
How can I make sure my activity is legal and safe?
The Fundraising Regulator provides comprehensive guidance on issues such as fundraising laws, public events, fundraising with children, insurance and risk. You can access their information for supporters by visiting the Fundraising Regulator website.
When planning a fundraising event, please also refer to the NSPCC’s information on safeguarding children and the NSPCC Fundraising best practice guidelines.

What is my Challenge Yourself JustGiving page?
This is where you can keep track of your challenge and your fundraising all in one place. You can personalise it by adding your photo, sharing your story and posting regular updates.
It's also where you'll start earning virtual badges for both your activity and your fundraising. It’s easy to share your page with friends and family, so you can show off how you're getting on and they can support you by donating.
How do I pay donations in given to me in cash?
The best way to add cash donations to your total is to pay them into your bank account and then make a payment from your debit/credit card to your own JustGiving page.
Can I donate to my own fundraiser?
Absolutely! Donating to your own page is a great way to get your fundraising rolling. In fact, statistically, it has been proven that self-donating helps to encourage donations from your supporters by up to 42%!
How do I add offline donations to my fundraising page?
You can manually add any offline funds raised by following these simple instructions:
Log in to your fundraising page using your JustGiving sign in details
- Clicking the ‘edit my page’ button
- Adding the amount raised offline.
- Click ‘save changes’ and the offline funds will then be shown as part of your total raised.
What is Gift Aid and can I add it to my donation?
Gift Aid is a great opportunity for donors to make their voluntary donations to BBC Children in Need worth 25% more – without spending a penny more. It enables charities like us to claim back the basic tax that supporters have paid on their donations from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
If every supporter agreed to Gift Aid, it would raise hundreds of thousands of pounds more to support children and young people in communities like yours.
To be eligible to add Gift Aid to your donation, you must be a UK taxpayer and you must have paid - or will pay - an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) to which you donate will reclaim on gifts for the current tax year. Other taxes, such as VAT and Council Tax, do not qualify. The charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you give.
What should I do if I’ve forgotten my username and password for my JustGiving page?
When setting up your JustGiving page you will have chosen a password - don’t worry if you've forgotten it!
You can check your emails from JustGiving to retrieve your login details, or head to the JustGiving Help & Support page for help logging into your account.

How do I receive my free Pudsey ears?
Once you sign up for a JustGiving page, we will email you a form to complete to claim your free Pudsey ears. It may take up to 14 days to receive it. Upon receipt of your form, we will post the Pudsey ears out to you.
Can I have some charity merchandise to sell at my event?
Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide free merchandise for you to sell at your event. Many of our supporters opt to purchase items instead, individually or in bulk. You’ll be able to do this through our online shop.
Can I get a certificate for the money I've raised?
We’re proud of your donations - and we want you to be proud too! The easiest way to receive a Thank You Certificate is to download yours here.
About BBC Children in Need
How does BBC Children in Need raise money?
We raise money by organising an annual fundraising campaign that culminates with the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal Show live on BBC One.
Each year, people like you, from every corner of the UK come together to support BBC Children in Need and help change young lives – from schools and corporate partners like Asda and DFS, to individual fundraisers, colleagues across the BBC and celebrity friends.
What happens to the money that I've raised?
We use the money raised to support the children and young people who need it most, right across the UK.
BBC Children in Need currently supports over 1,500 local charities and projects helping children and young people who live with a range of challenges such as poverty, disability or illness, distress, neglect, trauma and other significant obstacles.
In the last grant year alone, your support helped change the lives of over 426,000 children and young people right here in the UK.
How do you decide which projects to fund?
We have a rigorous decision-making process in place to make sure the grants we award will have a positive impact on the lives of children and young people facing a range of challenges. Our teams carefully assess these applications to confirm that grants will make a real difference to those who need it most.
Grant applications are reviewed in the Nation or Region in which each project is based. A group of people, either local staff or volunteer committee members, draw on their specialist knowledge of the local context, the non-profit and children’s sectors and BBC Children in Need’s policies and priorities to advise our board of Trustees regarding which projects should receive grants.
